The prevalence of obesity and T2DM among children and adolescents is a worldwide problem. The ‘Diabetes in the School Project” uses diverse methodologies, including puppet theater, able to sensitize students, challenge them to seek new knowledge and life experiences.
The International Diabetes Federation's Life for a Child (LFAC) Programme supports the provision of the best possible healthcare, given local circumstances, to all children and youth with diabetes in developing countries, through the strengthening of diabetes services in these countries.
These guidelines have been developed by the IDF Life for a Child Programme and ISPAD taking into account resource- and cost-related issues affecting care for children and youth with diabetes in developing countries.
