The 12th International Diabetes Federation Western Pacific Region Congress (IDF-WPR 2018), concurrently happening with the 10th Scientific Meeting of Asian Association for the Study of Diabetes (AASD), is held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia, from 22 to 25 November 2018.The congress is jointly organised by Diabetes Malaysia (DM), Malaysian Endocrine & Metabolic Society (MEMS), National Diabetes Institute (NADI) and Malaysian Diabetes Education Society (mdEs). The congress highlights the theme “Enhancing Knowledge & Skills – Transforming Diabetes Care”, focusing on the latest advances in the prevention and treatment of diabetes.This biennial congress is the perfect platform for leading scientists, practitioners, healthcare experts and care providers to gain the latest insights and knowledge related to the major developments in diabetes in recent years. The congress includes plenary and presidential / award lectures, oral and poster presentations, debate etc, aiming to provide every participant a wonderful and fruitful experience.The International Diabetes Federation West Pacific Region (IDF-WPR) The International Diabetes Federation Western Pacific Region Congress (IDF-WPR Congress) is a regional congress under International Diabetes Federation (IDF), held every 2 years in different parts of the West Pacific region. The IDF Western Pacific Region (WPR) is the largest of the IDF Regions in terms of population and is the most diverse economically, politically and culturally. The member associations from East Asia, the South-East Asian Peninsula and Oceania, represent a substantial proportion of the Region's population. The previous successful Congress held in the West Pacific was, the 11th IDF-WPR Congress held in Taipei, Taiwan in 2016.
