Each year, the Division of Developmental & Translational Diabetes and Endocrine Research at the City of Hope holds an annual diabetes and obesity symposium in memory of the late Rachmiel Levine, the scientist responsible for clarifying the nature of insulin action. The 15th Annual Rachmiel Levine Diabetes and Obesity Symposium will be held March 1 -4, 2015 at The Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego, California. The program will cover all pertinent aspects and new technologies in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, islet biology, and regenerative medicine. The live meeting will consist of introductory lectures and plenary sessions that will each conclude with a panel discussion. In addition, the meeting will offer debate sessions, trainee oral presentations, and a poster session for trainees to present new and exciting data in a relaxed forum. Authors of the top-rated abstracts will be awarded the Rachmiel Levine Scientific Achievement Award, to encourage future research interests.
