Highlighting the benefits of regular exercise for people with type 1 diabetes.JDRFs Performance in Exercise and Knowledge (PEAK) programme and Exercising for Type 1 Diabetes (EXTOD) have joined to break new ground in education on type 1 and exercise. This impactful training programme is run exclusively for health care professionals. It was created after a 2013 JDRF survey found that 36% of people living with type 1 diabetes viewed exercising to be a challenge. The programme will help healthcare professionals to provide education and support around exercise and nutrition to their patients living with type 1 diabetes. This one-day event will bring together 300 healthcare professionals to hear expert speakers including Dr Rob Andrews, Dr Ian Gallen and Dr Parth Narendren deliver the programme, and includes sessions on sports nutrition and type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology and exercise. An interactive course syllabus will be available for delegates to view throughout the day on the conference app, compatible with both android and iPhones, and course materials will be available for download after the conference.
